- Click Generate descriptions.
- Edit the drafts so they sound like you, watch the character count, and copy the best one.
What makes a good meta description?
The meta description is the short summary that search engines may show under your title. It doesn’t directly affect rankings, but a clear, specific description can persuade more people to click. Good descriptions summarise what the page offers, include the main keyword naturally (search engines often bold matching words), mention a real benefit and end with an action.
This generator uses fixed templates rather than AI, combining your topic, keyword, details and call to action into six different structures. The counter marks descriptions under 70 characters as too short and over 160 as likely to be cut off; around 120–160 usually displays in full. It also tells you whether each draft still includes your keyword after you edit it.
Writing tips
- Write a unique description for every important page.
- Be specific: numbers, features and locations beat vague claims.
- Match the content of the page so visitors aren’t disappointed.
- Avoid stuffing several keywords; write for people.
Meta description FAQ
Will Google always use my description?
No. Search engines may show a different snippet from your page if they think it better matches a search. A relevant description is used more often.
Do meta descriptions affect ranking?
Not directly. They influence whether people click your result, which matters for traffic.
What length is ideal?
Roughly 120–160 characters. Mobile results may show a little less.
